The Leopard Longhouse is owner "IJ Singh's private accommodation" made available to select couples. It is a simple longhouse using the concept of the Dyaks of Borneo and Iriyan Jaya, rather than compartmentalise rooms. The only compartment is the bath whose doors open fully to reveal a rockfall face across the sunk bath, from the mountain, to provide the north eastern wall. Using oneway glass, and a monsoonal waterfall, you may sit in a unique hand hewn stone bath looking to the sky and river, while the rock waterfall is almost touchable. On request a full top verandah with a Raj style tented canopy affords a grandstand view of the river.The Leopard Longhouse is so named because it features a full length leopard mural painted by Canadian Mural artist Susanne Pink, inspired by the resident feline.Using A unique technique as by artists of old, the lime surface was painted upon while still wet in order to absorb the colours. Then left exposed to the elements for a while to give it a weathered look, the leopard mural is a unique feature of the Longhouse. One wall features another similar work, also reflecting the local biodiversity, In this case the Mahaseer.

Our Luxury Raj Tent " The Swiss Cottage" as it is now known, is a blend of Imperial Indian Raj and East Africa design., using standing height walls, and spacious enough to accommodate a couple of visitors and just not feel "constrained" in any way. It is fully furnished with rugs, chairs, storage shelves and cupboards, with Raj era style furniture and has an attached and full sized sunk bath, and your own verandah. Mesh screens windows with homespun cotton cord are inbuilt into windows and doors.

Even the simpler version of this tent features your own verandah with chairs and an attached toilet and bath. The latter however are a dry toilet which means that waste disposal is done with a pour over of a sand lime mix, rather than water, and that a native style bucket bath is provided. This is infact gentler on the land and you will relish the simplicty and cleanliness of it all, just as a dignitary or district Comissioner traveling the Indian countryside, in the 1890's or indeed the 1930's and 40's enjoyed.

We have smaller but comfortable tents pitchable at different spots as needed .These use sleeping bags and foam mats and a common toilet. We also offer bivouacs or machan camp outs in deep forest across river on request and with a wildlife guide.
